Elegant Winter Engagement Session in South Lake Tahoe, CA | Gina & Joseph
Northern California couple Gina and Joseph teamed with Southern California photographer Jerome Park for their engagement shoot, a session Jerome describes as “…a testament to [the couple’s] unyielding and adoring relationship.” They managed to marry Joseph’s love of the outdoors with Gina’s classic style by shooting amongst the towering pines in black tie attire. The group braved temperatures well below freezing in what happened to be Jerome’s first experience shooting in snow! “A humbling adventure unfolded as we all hiked through ice, endured the Tahoe chill, and even dodged traffic in search [of] the perfect location…” he says.
Despite numbed fingers and toes, Jerome says this session provided reassurance as to why he is a photographer and reminded him of what he appreciates most about being in the field. He loved watching the session unfold and observing how the couple interacted with one another. “Even through the cold, Joseph and Gina remained a warm, blissful pair, supporting one another throughout the day… every couple is different in how they show love to each other. I loved seeing how sweet Joseph was to Gina… Their upcoming wedding is in the summer, and having their engagement session in the winter symbolized for them that their love will last through all seasons.”

THE COUPLE’S STORY:
“From the start of their relationship, Gina and Joseph have loved traveling and exploring new places together. They’ve ridden elephants together in Thailand, swam together in Ha Long Bay, and have marveled at the sight of the Grand Canyon at sunset. So when Joseph had an upcoming business trip to Milan, Gina and their fur baby jumped at the opportunity and booked tickets to come along. After [visiting] museums and cathedrals, they decided to spend a day in Venice. Once they arrived in the city, they were both in complete awe of its beauty. The locals shared how it had been raining the whole week, but fate was on their side as their one day-trip was filled with nothing but sunshine. When they decided to take a private gondola out to the Venetian lagoon, it suddenly seemed like all the puzzle pieces of their lives came together. In that perfect moment of peace, Joseph got down on one knee and asked Gina to be his wife.”

“WHEN I CONDUCT MY SHOOTS, I TRY TO MAKE IT A POINT TO KEEP THE SHOOT VERY SMOOTH AND ORGANIC, [WITH MINIMAL] POSING, MAKING IT SO THE COUPLE CAN BE THEMSELVES…. THE SNOWY SETTING CREATED A ROMANTIC BACKDROP, AND THE COUPLE DID THE REST! “
