Coffee and Adventures is the Perfect Brew on Your Wedding Day
If you’re a couple who loves coffee and wants to incorporate it into your wedding day, you don’t have to worry about not have wedding guests to incorporate your favorite beverage as a wedding favor. You don’t even need a coffee bar! All you need to celebrate is two coffee mugs and lots of love.
Dayla and Mik decided they wanted to mix their love for the mountains and coffee together during their winter elopement at Canada’s Strathcona Provincial Park.
“Being part of an elopement is always an exciting experience. It’s fun to watch a client’s vision come to life and evolve. Dayla & Mik wanted to incorporate their love for the mountains, so picking Stratchona Provincial Park as the place to explore was the starting point for our planning. When I’m helping a client plan an elopement, I try and get a good understanding of what is important for them on their day. I try and encourage clients to trust their gut and intuition along the way.” [Kim Jay, The Photographer]

Simple Elopement Adventure
This couple wanted their special day to define who they are. They made sure to incorporate elements they loved without worrying about aspects they didn’t care for. We love how laid back and personal their wedding day was.
“Non-traditionally we decided to elope. No engagement. No rings. Just the two of us deciding to make it official with our immediate family. Getting married at a cabin, take a hike, exchange love letters, drink lots of coffee, order pizza and play board games.” [Dayla and Mik]
Who wouldn’t love the idea of running off and having an adventure together with a good slice of pizza and a warm cup of coffee as you admire the view?
Even planning a traditional wedding, couples don’t need to follow a certain set of rules or traditions. Kim Jay, the photographer, tells us how couples should incorporate things they both share a love for and incorporate it into their ceremony or wedding day.
“Dayla and Mik weren’t really ‘pop a bottle of champagne’ type people, but they LOVE their coffee. So sharing a cup together was a cool way to incorporate who they are, and give them a boost to finish the day off. Win-win!” [Kim Jay]
Elements We Love About This Coffee Lover Wedding Day
If you’re loving this adventurous elopement, we break down how to elope for couples who are considering planning an elopement instead of a traditional wedding.
We also love how effortlessly these two incorporated coffee into their elopement day. Can you imagine how amazing it would be to go on an adventure together and admire the view together while sipping a cup of coffee together?
“As a couple of coffee lovers together we brewed a cup from Caffe Fantastico and shared it as newlyweds surrounded by massive trees stumps and mountains. It was the most magical and surreal moment of my life.” [Dayla and Mik]
Dayla and Mik brought along adorable coffee mugs from Handson Clay Collective. We love these mugs because they not only matched their wedding day’s vibe, but it also paired beautifully with the snow and Dayla’s beautiful Wtoo Watters wedding dress.
If you are looking for a more personalized mug, then our team personally loves Etsy.
We also loved how Dayla did her own hair and makeup. Their wedding cake was made by a friend. If you both really love coffee, then you can also make your wedding cake a coffee flavor cake! This is another great idea to incorporate your favorite drink on your special day.
Memorable Moments During This Elopement
Kim tells us her favorite part during this couple’s elopement had to be documenting their vows. Kim tells us she gave them space during this moment to be able to catch the raw moment beautifully.
“It’s beautiful to see couples do things their way and incorporate who they are into a day that is all about their commitment to each other. I feel like elopements allow for some couples to connect more deeply with each other while they making their commitment, rather than being distracted by the buzz and business of a wedding day.” [Kim Jay]
