Top 10+ Alaska Wedding Venues to Check Out in 2025
Alaska is easily one of the best places to elope, but couples sometimes struggle to decide where to plan their wedding ceremony, especially if they’re bringing along some family and friends. This is why we put together a list of our favorite wedding venues in Alaska that are ideal for elopements and small weddings.
Luckily for you, most of these locations do provide some sort of elopement or small wedding package. These are usually way less expensive and hosted during the middle of the week.
Denali National Park
Imagine exchanging vows with North America’s tallest peak as your witness. Denali has a bunch of scenic spots for elopement and small weddings, but there are also venues for bigger weddings.
Some of these venues within Denali include Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, Sheldon Chalet, and Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge to name a few. Keep in mind, that most events require a $200 special use permit.
Aurora Skies Lodging
Nothing says an intimate wedding than two private cabins off the road in the mountains near Seward, Alaska. Aurora Skies is the perfect place for you to host a small wedding ceremony. They even have trails nearby if you want to explore a bit!
Raven Glacier Lodge
Raven Glacier Lodge is a wedding venue in Girdwood, Alaska. We love the whimsical feel this venue gives with its cabins and nearby forest all around the venue. This is the perfect intimate setting for couples looking to get away from it all and have a gorgeous setting, without the hike.
Winterlake Lodge
Looking for a remote getaway to start your forever? Accessible only by small plane, this remote lodge is near Anchorage. Winterlake Lodge specializes in intimate, nature-centered weddings. There are also different outdoor activities you can enjoy, including glacier hikes, kayaking, and dog sledding.
Hatcher Pass Cabins
Nothing says Alaska more than Hatcher Pass’s red cabins. The perfect location for your elopement adventure too. These cabins sell out pretty quickly, especially during peak season, so our best recommendation is to plan ahead and during the off-season. Your elopement vendor who specializes in Alaska elopements can be more insightful for alternatives if you can’t book a cabin here.
Land’s End Resort
Located at the very tip of Homer Spit, Land’s End offers panoramic ocean and mountain views. With beachside ceremony options and a large indoor space for receptions, it’s a great option for those who want to combine stunning scenery with an indoor backup plan.
Viking Cove
If you’re trying to go for more of the adventure elopement vibe, then check out Viking Cove in Haines, Alaska. It’s on a 12-acre peninsula that is secluded from everything. You’ll get to enjoy views of meadows, beaches, mountains, and forests all for yourself during your wedding day. You can even stay overnight after your ceremony here because they do have some accommodation options.
Eklunta Lake
Eklunta Lake by Anchorage, Alaska is probably one of the best scenic spots. It’s nestled in the Chugach Mountains and it’s less than an hour’s drive from Anchorage. There are plenty of trails and water activities to do here, along with a campground you can stay overnight. We personally prefer staying at a near Airbnb or Vrbo, which could make for the perfect spot to host your micro wedding (always be sure to check if hosting a small wedding is ok with the owner).
Check out some rental homes near Eklunta Lake.
Seward Windsong Lodge
If you’re looking for a coastal wedding venue option near Seward, Alaska, then Seward Windsong Lodge is the place. This venue is located on the Resurrection River Valley and you actually get views all around from forests, mountains, and the river itself. Although this place is used for bigger weddings, you can 100% host a more intimate wedding here. It’ll also make the perfect place to stay on your wedding night.
Salted Roots Cabins
Probably one of the most unique boutique cabin-style inns we have seen in a while! Salted Roots Cabins is located in Seward, Alaska. They offer picturesque cabins with gorgeous glass-front design a-frames. They also have more modern designs too. You can rent the five cabins and accommodate up to 24 guests, which is perfect for a small wedding!
Veil and Vine
Located in Palmer, Alaska, Veil and Vine is a rustic barn and farm venue with multiple ceremony sites to choose from, including picturesque views of Pioneer Peak. You can also choose the Founder’s Chapel, the Pavilion, or the Gallery (their indoor option) to host your event. We love this venue because they have outdoor options that have roofs, so you and your guests can celebrate without worrying about rainy weather.
Millers Landing
Millers Landing is perfect for couples looking for something completely different. You can rent out the entire campground space for your small wedding or you can rent a full day on one of their custom charters! Whatever you decide to do, this wedding venue in Seward, Alaska is for the adventurous couple year-round looking to explore together whether it be on a kayak or camping and staying up late to look at the stars.
5 Tips When Picking a Venue
When choosing a wedding venue in Alaska, consider these 5 tips before picking the right venue for you.
1) Consider Season and Weather
Alaska’s seasons can dramatically impact your wedding day. Summers offer long daylight hours, while winter brings magical snowy landscapes. If your wedding venue only has outdoor ceremony locations, then plan for backup options (clear umbrellas, anyone?).
2) Venue’s Accessibility
Some of Alaska’s most stunning venues are remote, requiring special transportation like boats, helicopters, or small planes. Keep this in mind for you and your guests and factor in any extra time or budget needed for transport.
3) Accommodation Distance From Your Venue
Alaska is known for its rustic beauty, and some venues may be far from hotels. If you have out-of-town guests, check for nearby accommodations or consider hosting your wedding closer to cities like Anchorage or Juneau.
4) Permits and Regulations Requirements
Many of Alaska’s natural locations, such as national parks and protected lands, require special permits for events or photoshoots. Be sure to check any rules and secure the necessary permits well in advance.
5) Venue Views and Photography Opportunities
Alaska offers epic views, so consider a venue with dramatic backdrops that suit your style. Whether it’s glacier views, mountain vistas, or dense evergreen forests. Pick a venue that has your ideal ceremony backdrop.
