When we were originally looking to elope on the Oregon coast, we were initially attracted to the more popular spots you see online...but we soon found Venturing Vows and were immediately drawn to her emphasis that she could take us to places that were even better and more remote (being a local herself). We don't regret it a bit -- Miki was amazing. She helped us plan an amazing day unique to our interests, guided us through beautiful recommendations to choose from, and even advised us on spots to see for the remainder of our trip on the coast.

Within a day she had a handful of pictures to us so that we could start to share and break the news to family and friends. Ours was a 6 hour package, it was a wonderful day with just us and Miki finding beautiful spots, making the pictures our own, and having a great guide along the way.

Sure, you can go to Secret Beach or Natural Arches...or you can go with Miki and find something unique, beautiful, and true to you as a couple that's even better.

Miki was the most responsible, professional, experienced, friendly, punctual and responsive photographer we could have found for our elopement. Another photographer HIGHLY recommended her to us.

My now-husband said at the start of our wedding planning that we didn't need a photographer. A camera and a tripod would do the job. (rolling my eyes!).

Back to the review! Miki was beyond helpful. She is very familiar with the Redwood area, where we got married. She provided us with locations, suggestions (weather, vendors, hidden gem spots, and so on! ), and checklists.

Miki is environmentally conscious, respectful, and friendly. She never said no to our ideas. But she offers alternatives if you want to do something "crazy" that it's not allowed.

She even drove to our wedding location the day before and sent us pictures of some beautiful spots for us to choose from.
If communication is important to you, she is the one! Miki is very communicative and responsive. She replied to all our emails promptly.

The result? We got stunning, wedding magazine-type shots. Because of our photos, we are still the talk of our circle.
My husband, the one who said we could take our own pictures, was the one who shared the photos with everyone.

We used Venturing Vows for our Brookings, OR elopement. Miki is one of the most amazing and genuine people I’ve ever met! She perfectly captured our day and made it so special. Bob wrote us a beautiful ceremony script that was personalized to us.

Our photos are STUNNING! Miki even had a sneak peak to us the next evening so we could share the news with our friends and family. Miki is full of fun nature/science facts and genuine love for nature. She was even SO sweet and patient with our dogs, they can get a little crazy. Miki took great care to highlight what was special and important to us.

3.) As with most wedding days, ours didn’t go completely as planned. Miki was so calm and offered us many alternatives for times and locations. I never felt stressed or overwhelmed because Miki truly went above and beyond to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible.
4.) The photos we received are absolutely stunning! Miki is so talented at what she does and she truly has a passion for it. Having gorgeous photos was one of my priorities and she exceeded my expectations!!

With Isaac and I being from Arkansas, we had no idea where to even start in planning our elopement on the Oregon Coast. Miki was able to show us many wonderful location options, create a timeline of our day with different activities throughout, and helped us find vendors in the area. Even though we were a long way from Oregon, Miki made the planning process as seamless as possible and we are so appreciative for that!!!
The day of the wedding, Miki was everything we hoped for! She was so easy to talk to, she made us feel comfortable in front of the lens, and was prepared for any situation that could arise. We originally had a set location for photos after our ceremony but Miki was worried about my dress getting snagged on the way there, so she suggested an alternative location. The change in the plan went seamlessly and we even got a marine biology lesson out of it!
The experience over all was just the best and we have Miki to thank!

Venturing Vows is the real deal when it comes to all things elopement photography to give you the most beautiful keepsakes of your wedding day!! We knew we wanted to elope on the Oregon Coast/Redwoods, however, being from Tennessee we had no idea where to start. Initially when I was planning my first call with Miki I anticipated I would come up with a plan and she would show up and take photographs. I have planned and worked many weddings but did not want to be hands on for my own planning process... I wanted to show up and have things fall right into place and because of Miki's attention to detail, passion for her clients and photography, and knowledge of all things Oregon Coast I was able to do just that. After discussing our preferences and desires for the day she provided us with choices of locations and a timeline. It was FLAWLESS. I never felt rushed because even though we were a little behind she never let it impact our day. OUR PHOTOS ARE BETTER THAN I EVER IMAGINED THEY COULD BE! Miki is such an artist behind the camera and really did amazing at capturing the essence of our day and love for each other. The best part is she allowed us to do our thing and we didn't have too much "posing" so the day still felt very intimate. I would hire Miki again and again if I had a choice.

We also worked with Bob to officiate our ceremony and he did an amazing job of tailoring it to be exactly what we wanted. My husband and I put a big emphasis on our ceremony wanting it to be intentional and a reflection of our goals and what marriage means to us, and Bob didn't fall short. He gave us options on the tone (more serious, funny, or both) and I chose more serious with a little added humor, and he nailed it!

Without Miki and Bob I can guarantee our day wouldn't have been as memorable as it was! <3 Thanks for everything you did to make it perfect (for us)!
