Though they had tentatively agreed to venture to Olympic National Park, Henry abandoned all plans when he learned Kitty and her fiancé own a home on a Christmas tree farm with breathtaking views of Mount Rainier. “I literally screamed out, ‘Oh my gosh, stop! We are so doing that instead of Olympic National Park,’ and I am glad we did because this means so much more to her… I wanted to keep true to what they love instead of just another pretty photo that we all have seen on the internet.”
Following some sweet shots with their fur baby, the couple boarded a rowboat, with Henry in another, and they made their way out to the middle of the lake. Henry quickly realized that bringing his vision to life might prove a bit more challenging than anticipated. “Boats are not like cars, and you can’t park them, so we kept spinning around and drifting away from each other. I had to keep asking Daniel to row around every [few] minutes… We laughed so much about how hard Daniel had to work for these beautiful photos.” Henry also made the unfortunate discovery that looking through his lens aboard a boat did not particularly agree with him, and it was an hour after they were back on land before he was able to drive home. Nevertheless, I think we can all agree this photographer nailed his first engagement session and has found his true calling!

“MY FOCUS FOR THIS SESSION WAS… TO CAPTURE WHAT DANIEL AND KITTY HAVE CONSIDERED IMPORTANT IN THEIR LIFE, WHICH IS THEIR HOUSE, THEIR CHRISTMAS TREE FARM, THEIR FUR BABY, AND LIFE BY THE WATER.”

“…WE TOOK THE ROW BOAT OUT ON [THE WATER] FOR SOME SUNSET PHOTOS WITH THE VIEW OF MT. RAINIER IN THE BACKGROUND. IT WAS THE ONE OF THE MOST MAGICAL MOMENTS I’VE EVER EXPERIENCED.”
