Whimsical Elopement Near the Bridge House Cabin of Glen Oaks, CA

About This Elopement in Glen Oaks

“We started the day inside of the Bridge House cabin and shot their first look on the grass lawn. After the sun drenched ceremony, the couple enjoyed charcuterie cones and wine set up by Kiss Me in Carmel and had a celebratory toast with their guests. We took some more photos in the sunny redwood groves, then drove to Garrapata State Beach where there was a beach picnic waiting, complete with champagne and their wedding cake from Sweet Reba’s. They had their first dance barefoot in the sand, listening to their personalized playlist, which they aptly titled “The (Big Sur)emony. I then took them to explore the rocks and the coolest cave lit up only by lanterns.” [Jamie, the photographer]

Planning Your Elopement at Glen Oaks

“Grace and Matt had to pay a site fee to Glen Oaks since they were having wedding with more than four guests. The space where they got married is called the “Fairy Ring” because it is a perfect circle of huge redwood trees. My top tips for eloping at Glen Oaks are to make sure to choose one of their cabins with an outdoor soaking tub under the trees, choose a space that speaks to you for your ceremony whether that is the grassy lawn, down by the river, or in one of the many redwood groves.” [Jamie, the photographer]

Details From This Elopement

“The couple put so much time and thought into their wedding day, and it really showed. Some of my favorite details were the dainty sleeves on Grace’s wedding dress, the beautiful yet natural decor of the ceremony site, the amazing charcuterie and beverage spread from Kiss Me In Carmel, the gorgeous floral arrangements by Cassia Foret. I loved that Matt wore his pocket watch from his grandfather. I love that I was able to catch the end of the phone conversation Grace was having with her Dad who couldn’t be there in person. Grace’s simple, yet stunning hairstyle by Malina Terra.” [Jamie, the photographer]

Memorable Moments During This Elopement

From the photographer:

“We finished up our evening at Garrapata State Beach and because the couple were truly up for anything, we decided to climb up on some rocks near the ocean. Grace didn’t even bat an eye when a sneaker wave came out of nowhere and the train of her dress got soaked. She was laughing as she climbed down off the rocks, while Matt was of course making sure she was okay. My other favorite moment was during the couple’s First Look. I have never seen two people more in love, or a couple shed as many tears as during this emotional part of their day.”
