Winter Holiday Elopement Inspiration Session in Big Bear, CA | Camylla & Jordan

If you find yourself asking why this couple looks familiar, it may be with good reason! Their love story has been featured on multiple platforms, thanks to the dating site that brought them together. You can catch them in eHarmony commercials, scroll through their snapshots on company’s Instagram, and glimpse their beaming faces on the website’s homepage!

Camylla and Jordan recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary, but if you ask photographer Dani Purington, you could easily mistake them for newlyweds. “[This] was such a fun shoot! Camylla and Jordan… were just so giggly and loving to each other the entire time. It was too easy for me as a photographer – not much posing or [prompting was] needed!” This styled elopement also served a second purpose, providing the perfect opportunity for the couple to renew their vows. They hiked a mile into the woods before finding the perfect location to stage the ceremony. “I gave them a private moment to hold hands at the altar where the wreaths were and share their vows again with each other,” Dani recalls. “I asked everyone around to take ten steps back so they could have that private moment and Camylla started crying! It was such a precious moment… to have such genuine emotion and love on-scene!”

Although the team was hoping for snow during this winter inspiration session, they found other ways to harness the holiday spirit without it, bringing together festive florals, macrame wreaths, and a rich color palette of burgundies, mossy greens, and ivory. For Dani, one of the highlights of the session was learning when to allow certain moments to stand alone. “…sometimes it’s okay to not capture those moments,” she says. “Sometimes they are just too precious to stick a camera in [the couple’s] face and ruin their moment, and it’s better to just watch and bask in their love with them.”

“…THEY WERE DOWN TO ADVENTURE AND HIKE IN THEIR FORMAL ATTIRE – SOMETHING THAT EVERY PHOTOGRAPHER DREAMS OF!”

“…THEY STILL ACT LIKE NEWLYWEDS WHO JUST GOT MARRIED YESTERDAY. THEY WERE HOLDING HANDS THE ENTIRE TIME, ALWAYS LOOKING AT EACH OTHER, SMILING, KISSING, AND FRANKLY, MAKING MY JOB REALLY EASY AS THE PHOTOGRAPHER!”
