Vendors to Build your Perfect Idaho Elopement Package

When putting together your Idaho elopement package, you want to consider your overall elopement budget. Whether you’re planning an elopement in the mountains or a micro wedding near Sandpoint, your budget is everything when planning! Elopements have a pretty big range when it comes to an average price because it all depends on what vendors you decide to include on your wedding day. Please note that you are not required to include every vendor type in your package.

Photographers

These vendors are where most of your elopement budget will be going towards, but for good reason. On average, our photographers will charge $2,500-$6,000 per elopement. This depends on how many hours of coverage (half-day versus full-day) a couple is looking for their Idaho elopement package.

Videographers

Like elopement photographers, videographers are going to be a great investment for your elopement day to document your adventures together. On average, our videographers will charge $2,500-$6,000 per elopement. Keep in mind, this depends on how long you want your elopement footage to be. For example, a full-day video coverage would cost more versus covering just your elopement ceremony.

Officiants

On average, our officiant members will charge $500-$800 per elopement. Officiants are great to orchestrate your favorite traditions and wedding vows. It’s also important to note that some other vendors are also officiants, so we recommend always asking.

Elopement Planners

You don’t necessarily always need a wedding planner for your elopement adventure, but having a planner does help if couples have a very clear elopement vision. The average price for our planner members is $1,000-$3,000. Planners are also great for couples who don’t want to DIY or worry about anything, or couples who live far from their elopement destination.

Florists

Since you’re planning an elopement, you’ll need less floral arrangements than your average traditional wedding in Idaho. If you aren’t down to DIY your own bridal bouquet, then a florist in Idaho can average $300 to $600.

Venues

Are you looking to elope in Boise, Sandpoint, Hailey, or Sun Valley? Even though there are plenty of public land options to consider eloping to in Idaho, there are also some pretty neat private venues in Idaho too to include in your elopement package. Our team loves private venues because they do offer you more privacy and flexibility when you two are going to elope. Private venues, on average, will charge $300 to $4,000, depending on the location.

Sawtooth Mountains

Sawtooth Mountains is THE place to elope for adventurous couples who love mountain views. The highest elevation is 10,751 feet at Thompson Peak, but there are over 50 peaks with nearly the same elevation to enjoy. This area near Stanley, Idaho is not only perfect because of its mountains, but we also love how many lakes there are around the area. If you’re not sure where to start, then team up with one of our members to help you decide which adventure to go on in Sawtooth. There are 700 miles of trails, 40 peaks over 10,000 feet, and more than 300 mountain lakes. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, then look into camping together and making your elopement a multi-day adventure.

Stanley

Other than Sawtooth Mountains, there are plenty of things to do and places to explore near Stanley, Idaho. From soaking in a hot spring with a view to exploring Redfish Lake together. Stanley gives couples the opportunity to plan any type of elopement adventure. Go horseback riding, relax by the beach, go kayaking, or just watch the sunset together.

McCall

We love McCall because it’s the perfect town that is centrally located to things and allows you to have an enjoyable elopement together. This spot is easy to find rustic cabins or unique Airbnbs for your adventure together. There are also areas you can explore nearby that’ll give you forest, beach, or meadow views.

Payette National Forest

If you’re trying to go for a whimsical elopement vibe, then planning your elopement in one of Idaho’s forests, like Payette National Forest is probably the best plan for you. With 2.3 million acres, we are sure you’ll find something you both would love to explore. We personally love forest elopements because of the perfect lighting through the trees, along with the epic views of mountains as your backdrop. This area does require a special use permit for your elopement, so make sure to apply ahead of time.

Coeur d’Alene

Looking for a little getaway? Coeur d’Alene is the perfect city in Idaho for your summer elopement. This area is known for water sports and Coeur d’Alene National Forest. You can explore the forest together, plan a boat elopement on the lake, or a lakeside picnic with a cute charcuterie board. We think this is the best place to elope in Idaho if you’re wanting a forest vibe mixed with beach vibes. The panoramic views you get from here are pretty awesome too.

Craters of the Moon

This one is pretty amazing. Craters of the Moon is a monument in Idaho and it’s a field of hardened lava! Seriously, this is probably one of the most unique and amazing places we have ever heard of. This place will make you feel like you’re eloping on another planet with endless black bumps and mesmerizing craters.

Sun Valley

Sun Valley is the winner for your winter elopement in Idaho. This city is probably the most touristy out of the rest because it’s known for its ski resorts on Bald Mountain and near Dollar Mountain. If you aren’t looking to plan a snowboarding elopement adventure, this area is still a pretty amazing spot for your elopement during the summer too. Imagine miles of mountain trails, filled with wildflowers. Pretty amazing, right?

 

When to Elope in Idaho

Since Idaho is more underrated than other places to elope, it gives couples the freedom to plan their elopement when they want without the stress of crowds. With a lot of other places to elope, summer is usually off-limits because tourists flock to parks. However, Idaho still offers some privacy with the hotter months of summer. We personally recommend a summer elopement if you both want to plan a long hike together. Eloping during the summer will ensure all the trails will be open. Another plus to eloping during the summer is the opportunity to plan multiple outdoor activities such as water sports.

If you’re looking for cooler weather that’s still appropriate to hike, then fall is your best bet. Most hiking trails are still accessible till October, but you’ll want to carry a jacket if you’re planning an all-day adventure since it does get cooler as the sunsets. Spring elopements are actually cooler than Fall, and couples will find that a lot of trails in the mountains will still be closed because of the weather.

We recommend planning a winter elopement in Idaho ONLY if you love snow, or if you both love winter sports. If you both don’t fall within those categories, then we think it’s best to plan your elopement during another season. Idaho gets very cold and very snowy. If you’re planning your elopement during this time, then plan to wear lots of layers to keep warm.

Permits and Marriage License in Idaho

When it comes to planning an Idaho elopement, you want to make sure you have the permits you need. Some places don’t require any permits to elope, but other places do. It’s important to always double-check with the location before or ask your elopement vendors for advice. Another important thing to remember is to also follow the rules and regulations set in place at your elopement destination. It’s our duty to leave no trace (LNT) when we visit public lands. Let’s all do our part and stay on the trail and respect the lands we are visiting.

Getting a marriage license in Idaho is as simple as planning your elopement there. Idaho marriage licenses don’t have a waiting period or require witnesses! This is pretty perfect for couples who are trying to elope just the two of them and prefer not to ask a fellow hiker to sign their marriage license. Idaho marriage licenses cost $30, but it can sometimes be more expensive if you apply during the weekends, so the pro tip here is to apply during the weekday.
