I cannot adequately express how wonderful it was to work with Heather. (And the bonus of her partner Mike!) She is incredibly communicative, so thoughtful (picked up my bouquet and delivered it to me, brought water and snacks for us, gifted us a Polaroid, brought towels to cover our car so I could change into my 2nd dress at the very end for our dinner, list goes on…), eager to help or provide input where we needed it, and allowed us slightly camera shy couple to feel completely at ease during our big day. Oh, she was also great about telling us to turn our heads or change up positions depending on the lighting…it was a very sunny day and she has a good eye for putting people in the best lighting possible.

We had a whopping 964 photos and an adorable gif in our final gallery. I tried to reduce our gallery down in size to a “favorites” portfolio and was only able to half the size, but am slowly chipping away at it - it’s a wonderful problem to have. They are stunning. I sent an email to Heather recently that captured how we felt about our gallery and our experience and I can’t find better words to express our sentiments:

“This gallery really warmed our hearts. I have a tremendous amount of gratitude for the vibe of our big day, for being present without our phones knowing you’d capture all the feels. We got to do everything in a way that was authentic to who we are and that is such a freeing feeling that is completely priceless. Every time I come back to our gallery to add more to my favorites, I feel that gratitude all over again.”

It’s impossible to pick favorites for this review, but I sure will try! Update…I already can tell as I’m posting this that I’m missing some favorites, but I hope this helps anyone considering Heather to document something important to them. Her energy is calming and fun. I found her prices to be very competitive.

We couldn't have been happier with Seeking Venture Photo as our wedding photographer! From the moment we first spoke, Heather made us feel comfortable and confident that our special day would be captured beautifully. And true to this, she made us feel completely at ease and natural in our own skin on our big day. We originally were on the fence about first-look photos, but I am incredibly glad we added time for those, as they are also some of my favorites, with all the details and 'candids' of getting ready. Heather also made all the coordination and arrival to our getting ready location as well as the venue as smooth as could be, especially since we are not locals to the area - her knowledge was invaluable.

Heather also managed to capture every important moment without being intrusive. She made sure we captured every photo on our short-list of poses, and suggested some other poses that ended up being some of our favorites! We hired Heather to capture our elopement in Big Sur on October 21, 2023. I love how open she was with communication and getting to know me and my husband before our big day. We filled out a questionnaire together so she could get to know us and our vision for the elopement. She also shared some ideas about the locations and what to expect as far as parking, restrooms, etc. One thing we greatly appreciated was dinner recommendations for after our elopement, we ended up going to a nice place she recommended and had the best service/ food ever!

We booked a 1.5 hour photography session, that included the first look, before pictures with our family, the ceremony on a cliff, and about 45 min afterward on the beach. She made the process so easy and enjoyable. My husband does not like taking pictures, and she did an excellent job bringing him out of his shell and capturing the most beautiful memories.

If you are looking to get married/eloped in the California area, please hire Heather! She is seriously the best and we are so happy we found her to capture our special day.

Heather was just so amazing. It is obvious that she enjoys her work. She goes above and beyond to put bride and groom at ease with compliments and great conversation throughout the experience. She also injects energy and excitement into the session so that being photographed seems fun, even for someone a little camera shy! She is so pleasant and genuine, and I’m glad our paths crossed and we got to meet.

We worked with Heather during our elopement in Big Sur in March 2023. Before the Big Event, she made sure to gather some information about us, and inspiration. She also shared some insights about the location and where we could go before / after our wedding.

We booked a 2-hour photography session, that included the first look, the actual ceremony and about an hour-long session afterward with our friends. Heather made sure to capture everyone who was there with us (most importantly, our dog in a suit). She was also super helpful in taking some stress off my shoulders. She coordinated the photography with the videographer and organized everyone in place for the first look. The best thing? Heather actually made sure to capture the one pose that I really wanted to have, even though I already forgot about it during the wedding. :)

The pictures turned out wonderful, we are super happy with the results!

The experience Heather provided as our elopement photographer exceeded our expectations. Not only were her shots of our big day stunning, but she was an absolute angel. My fiancé and I had never done a professional photo shoot together before and she created an atmosphere of bliss and comfort the entire afternoon. She was the greatest cheerleader with such a genuine soul and allowed us to remain in the moment while guiding us through each location. She gave us a wide range of incredible photos that captured the moment and blew us away. I was going for an old school romantic feel and she definitely delivered!
