I help couples build a wedding day that is as meaningful as possible by learning to question the status quo, and challenging them to listen to their intuition – even for those who already know they want to elope.
“When we look at our pictures, we remember every point in the day and how we felt. We had the perfect day. And it was all documented so we can remember it forever.” – September 2022 All Day Elopement Couple
AS YOU EXPLORE YOUR ELOPEMENT POSSIBILITIES, I WANT YOU TO KNOW:
There is no one right way to elope, and that’s the way it should be.
The best part about eloping is that you can celebrate having the freedom to do whatever you and your partner want on your wedding day. Want to say your vows at the top of a 50 foot balcony in the redwoods? I know a place. Dreaming of dipping your toes (or more!) in the ocean in your wedding outfits? You got it. Thinking about bringing along your ten closest people, or no one at all? Either way and anything in between is perfect.
This is your wedding day, and you get to call all of the shots.
This is your opportunity to prioritize the wedding experience you never knew you could have.
And I not only advocate for my couples to design their fully aligned wedding experience, but I did the same for me and my husband.
Our 18-guest wedding took place in September 2021 and designing the day around what felt right to us was a huge focus, regardless of what “tradition” (or my parents) said. At times it was hard to stick to my guns when faced with their disappointment, but I knew in my heart of hearts that this was the wedding day that truly made me happy more than anything else.
Wondering what designing our intentional wedding looked like? We…
- grounded ourselves with a meditation that our officiant read to us privately before our ceremony began
- held space for ourselves and our people by standing in the middle of the aisle for a few minutes mid-ceremony, soaking the experience up
- had guests leave notes to us yearbook-style on a large matted photo of us (that still hangs in our living room) as a guest book
- entered our ceremony in a completely unique way that was extremely meaningful to me
- skipped a dance party and had dinner at a restaurant, just the two of us, at 8pm after our wedding ended
We focused on only doing versions of things that felt good to us.
This is the beauty of intentionally designing your elopement day.
I’m not here to tell you that you should ditch every single tradition and do the opposite just for the hell of it. But I AM here to tell you that you owe it to yourself to ask questions about whether a tradition is truly serving you, or if doing it another way would be better and more aligned with how you want to experience your elopement.
Let’s create the elopement experience of your dreams outside in a beautiful place.
If I sound like someone you want on your team for your day, I’d love to hear all about your vision!
