We changed our wedding last minute from Hawaii to Vashon Island WA and Marla was the only photographer whose work grabbed my attention! Marla was a dream to work with. One of the best parts of working with Marla is that you get more than a photographer; you get someone who is going to join you along the journey. You also get a role of film on top of the digital photos. There was something about the confines of limited images that we knew she would have the care and eye to bring our vision to life. When you elope, it can feel overwhelming to figure out where to get married and how you are going to do it. There are a million websites and blogs about how to plan a traditional wedding but it was so hard to get answers to questions when you are planning an elopement in a national park. Marla was there to answer our questions, helped us scout the right location, and made sure we were equipped with all we needed to prepare and make the day special. She warmed up my jacket in between photo sessions, no joke, and was just an all-around warm presence who enhanced our day, like a friend cheering us on to have the best time ever.

As for the pictures she captured our essence as a couple. She found ways to capture moments we didn't even know were happening. We got a lot of compliments that our pictures looked editorial. My dad said our photos were like poetry , which meant so much since it was just us and our officiant and our two witnesses. She has an amazing, user friendly client portal where she asks you all the logistic questions and also meaningful questions about you and your partner and what makes your love story special. She is easy to get a hold of and she is very responsive. She is encouraging, supportive, kind, funny, and a wealth of knowledge. Marla was the first vendor we booked for our elopement and we didn’t really know how to elope in a National Park! She walked us through so many details and encouraged us that, yes, it can be done!
