This is delightfully different elopement photography!

——————

My clients don’t just get beautiful photos after booking me; they get adventurous, fun, and beautifully unique visual stories.

If you crave adventure, want to do something awesomely different on your wedding day, and consider yourself nontraditional/quirky/offbeat, then you’re the exact kind of couple I want to photograph. I document weddings and elopements ranging from slightly unique to uber-adventurous, and I’d love to chat about your dream celebration!

Are we a great match? If so, you are likely…

– Huge lovers of the outdoors and into quirky locations and epic activities

– Excited to get away from crowds and go for a hike/kayak/helicopter ride/glacier walk/parasailing adventure

– Lovers of adventurous, fun, creative photos

My photography style is a modern-day blend of your personalities, my colorful and candid style, and personalized, innovative techniques that will make your photos stand out. I don’t just capture beautiful adventure photos; I actually get to know you and create a custom experience—and uniquely you photos—based on where we are and what you love.

I photograph elopements and intimate weddings all around the country and world, and am based in both California (Bay Area/Yosemite/Big Sur/Napa) and New York. I’ve also lived in Asia, Europe, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, and have photographed couples on 6 continents (all but Antarctica!). I’d love to trade travel tales that are awesome, crazy, and occasionally embarrassing while we’re hiking/boating/adventuring.

All couples are welcome at Kathryn Cooper Weddings! I take joy in capturing events for people of every religion or no religion, LGBTQ+ couples, and anyone else who is celebrating an important life milestone. Pets are welcome, too. Whether you want photos of your small ceremony in Yosemite, or want us to go on a whole weekend hiking and camping experience in Iceland, I’ll bring my 10+ years of worldwide photography experience and creative eye. I can’t wait to meet you and capture your celebration!

"Kathryn did an epic job on our wedding weekend--and she also drove us around for our adventure session. We had SO much fun hiking, exploring and getting our pictures taken underwater in the ocean. I could not have asked for more out of a photographer and am beyond happy we hired her."

"We had no doubt that we had to have Kathryn shoot our wedding. Her creativity and ability to capture every detail with artistic perfection is beyond belief. Plus, she's freaking hilarious and so easy to work with. Her style is unconventional and her photos are stunning. She had a spinning ring of fire at our photo shoot for crying out loud! Who comes up with stuff like that?! Kathryn Cooper that's who! We have a collection of awesome wedding photos that encompass the traditional portraits and family poses but an even bigger collection of amazing off beat, creative and unique shots that we will treasure for a lifetime."

"I can't recommend Kathryn enough! She's the woman to go to for your wedding if you want the most gorgeous, unique, fun photographs that reflect you and your partner. She went above and beyond to get the best shots, and we have the BEST wedding photos out of anyone I know. I'm not kidding- they're the perfect record of the most important day in our lives as a couple. Plus, she's super sweet and incredibly cool. <3."

Having spontaneous hfun is what my couples are all about

That's me with one of my amazing couples! Over the 3 days of photography they hired me for, they got married on a mountain, we went hiking, they did stand-up paddleboarding on a lake with their dogs and friends, had a cookout, threw snowballs at each other on top of a mountain, and more. It was an amazing time, and at the end they hoisted me up (which I was NOT expecting) for this slightly embarrassing but fun photo.
