Welcome- I’m Kayla 🙂 Cheers to you for considering the less traditional, nature-embracing path! I named my company after my husky, Babel, because she is a reminder of the good stuff in life: connection, authenticity, and adventure. Specializing in inclusive experiences in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and New England, my mission is to serve others with my full heart. This service starts from the moment our paths cross, to regional expertise and planning support, to documenting who you are as people in a way that is natural, celebratory, and reminiscent of an adventure unique to you as humans.

The beauty of being an adventure elopement and intimate wedding photographer is my lifestyle aligns with the details of this profession. On my down time, I am literally hiking in the mountains, exploring new trails with my family and wolf pack, and constantly drawing the connection between ourselves and nature. This work is my passion, and seeing people’s loves stories and preserving them in a natural way is a gift I hope to give others for the rest of my life.

Fun facts:
1. I am a Virgo, singer, guitarist, and animal-loving empath.
2. I firmly believe in social advocacy. ALL LOVE LIVES HERE. I continue to strive to better advocate for, amplify, and support often marginalized populations. Art is an incredible platform where inclusivity can thrive. I want my art to make this world a kinder, more loving, place to be for all.

All of my elopement experiences include (and this is just the beginning!):

1. a user-friendly, one-stop-shop: a client planning portal. Planning is stressful enough, and elopement photographers are there from start to finish. I’m here to partner, guide, support, and help sift through ALL of it.

2. a comprehensive, customized elopement guide: think, like, any potential logistic, idea, or detail you can imagine…this multi-page guide is for you.

3. communication: this is the pillar of that client-photographer trust, and I am here for my people. Email, text, walk-through zoom calls, etc…I personalize this very personal experience of getting married.

4. vendor recommendations: New England has an incredible community, and I’m here to link you to the right people.

5. want privacy? I am ordained.

6. elopement day approach: my photography is incredible natural, non-posed, but intimate enough that we celebrate in your love together. If you want to feel present on your day and not spend hours posing and “cheesing,” then our visions likely align. I aim to make the photography experience feel like a seamless part of your day.

7. next-day sneak peeks: beautifully captured images of your day, sent to your inbox, ready to share with loved ones and post away.

8. gallery delivery: 5 weeks.

9. music slideshow delivery: 5 weeks. These are a client favorite. On my homepage…go! Seriously, these are game-changing memory-preservers.

10. customized, professional, vegan (yes some photo products are not vegan, who knew?) fine art album delivered straight to your door.

What now?
1. we introduce ourselves over a call and I’ll answer any and all questions. feeling the vibe of your photographer is so important, because they should prioritize the things you care about.
2. we book your date, and we get to planning. Whatever you need, I am truly your co-pilot.

Talk soon, and I can’t wait to adventure with you during this new chapter of your life.

Love,
Kayla | Babel Photos

She is SO much more than a photographer.

Like many people who elope, we were on a crunch for time. Our officiant gave us Kayla’s information and within a day Kayla answered. She was so genuinely excited for us and filled our heads with so many great ideas and details that we didn’t even think of (like having a picnic and bringing snacks between locations). Organizing the details so it all goes smoothly is not our cup of tea. She helped plan our entire day. She offered her recommendations for flowers, hair/makeup, bakeries (she was even going to pick up our cupcakes to take that burden away from us- an outstanding gesture). She reached out to the people at Echo Lake for us as well and gave us all the contact information, broke down the fees, and even followed up with them. Kayla was there to answer questions 24/7, extremely professional, but also very fun and sweet to work with (and we have the photos to prove it)!

Kayla worked alone on our elopement day and she captured every beautiful moment from all different angles. We’re obsessing over her outstanding artistic ability while still giving us those wedding vibes. In our final album she gave us multiple prints in black and white, as well as a handcrafted slide show. We received a sneak peak album in 24 hours, which was amazing to share while it was all so fresh! We haven’t asked her to adjust any photos (because why would we need to) but I’m sure she’d be willing to.

We spent about an hour of our time prior to the ceremony doing finishing touches & first looks. She stepped away to take those beautiful sentimental shots which gave us and our families some privacy. After she photographed the ceremony on top of Cathedral ledge, we had a group photo and some couples shots before headed to Echo Lake. Everyone was exhausted from the heat and Kayla knew it. She encouraged us to stay hydrated, and got us through the family pics without feeling rushed. She accommodated to the plans that we originally had to better fit the moment (we decided to not bring out the chocolate covered strawberries due to the heat). We didn’t originally plan on getting in the water but Kayla captured that spontaneous moment and those are some of our favorite pictures/moments of the day.

It was so natural working with her too. I was timid about being in front of the camera, sharing such intimate moments- but she stayed hidden, which made it truly feel like it was just us two. She followed our pace. Nothing felt forced, she made each member of our families feel comfortable and relaxed - including my 90 year old grandmother.

We could go on forever about the amazing photographer and person she is.
When you look back at the MANY photos she took, you’ll be glad you hired her because she captured all those moments that make us smile & will certainly reminisce in the years to come.

Where do I begin? Kayla is an absolute dream. Her energy and talent is immeasurable. The entire process from booking to receiving your gallery (and epic SLIDESHOW!) is so fun and easy. Not only did she perfectly capture our wedding celebration, she was able to capture the feeling of absolute joy and happiness we all felt that day. She is pure magic. Kayla brings a warmth and positivity to your day that is so rare to find. The end result is even more stunning if you can believe it. She gave us SO MANY photos and we love every single one!!! They couldn't be better. She is so talented. We will cherish these memories forever. 11/10 HIGHLY beyond recommend this lovely and amazing photographer!
