My love for vast landscapes, long, strenuous hikes + unpredictable weather came long before my love for intimacy.
As a child, some of my fondest memories are those spent with my father, hiking the bluffs of northeastern Colorado, spotting wildlife, singing into the echoes of the hills + watching the sun set. As I grew older, my love for the outdoors evolved. i found myself chasing any hobby that landed me on top of a mountain, face-to-face with a granite slab or knee-deep in powder, but what I didn’t realize amid my pursuits, was the way that I was evolving emotionally as well.
Nature has this way of captivating you + leaving you feeling vulnerable. It is completely out of your control + can so easily sweep you off your feet. Nature evokes many of the same emotions that love + intimacy can + they’re intertwined in this strange, yet magical way.
I choose elopements because they allow a feeling + an experience to merge. These vast landscapes, long, strenuous hikes + unpredictable weather patterns can leave you feeling incredibly powerful in the same way that choosing your partner + choosing a wedding day that truly suits you + your partner can. Nature is perfectly imperfect just as you, your partner + your sometimes messy relationship are.
When you choose to elope, you’re choosing an experience that feels right for you + for me, there is truly nothing that inspires me more than capturing two, deeply in love individuals commit their lives to one another + explore a space that they genuinely connect with.
