Sierra National Forest Styled Elopement Outside Shaver Lake, CA | Liz & Ryan
Photographer Bessie Young entered this inspiration session driven by a single target: creating an adventurous atmosphere through untamed styling. “I wanted this session to be all about the couple, all about their love for each other,” she says. “When the creative team worked together, the only requirement was that their part reflect [this]. I wanted a wild, untamed bouquet, not too perfect of a hairstyle, a simple dress, and rustic yet gorgeous jewelry.” Nestled deep in the Sierra National Forest, Bessie relied upon natural textures to tie her styling together. Faux furs, wild florals, wooden elements, and copper accents perfectly integrated to bring her vision to life.
“A group of small business women came together to create this beautiful, wild mountain elopement. It was magical, sweet, and full of love and laughter… As the evening grew cold, the bride and groom snuggled together… Love and intimacy filled the air as the candles flickered and the pine trees rustled through the breeze. This elopement was only about two people in love.”

“The idea behind [this] styled shoot was to keep it wild, adventurous, and all about the bride and groom.”

“The connection between [these] two is something that I can’t even describe. The way that they look at each other, the way that they laugh, just everything. They were the absolute easiest individuals to work with, and the entire shoot was filled with laughter.”
“…my absolute favorite part of the session was when the sun went down. The night began to set in, so we lit all the candles and turned on the sparkle lights… and got cozy.”
