A Magical Day on the Amalfi Coast
Photography by Benni Carol Photography
“Shai and Dillon got ready at the Grand Hotel Il Convento di Amalfi and had an intimate ceremony within the ruins of an old cloister near the hotel. After the ceremony, we strolled through Amalfi, taking pictures at the stunning Duomo and the beach. We then drove down to Fiordo del Furore, a small cove that was once inhabited by a few fishermen. Some old houses are still visible today. Finally, we reached Positano, where we enjoyed a spectacular sunset on the exceptionally empty beach.” [Benedetta, the photographer]
Their elopement was nothing short of magical. Choosing to elope at the end of November meant fewer crowds, softer light, and a peaceful atmosphere that let them soak in every moment. The couple explored the charming streets of Amalfi, took in the coastal views at Fiordo del Furore, and ended their day with a once-in-a-lifetime sunset in Positano.

Planning Your Amalfi Coast Elopement: Permits & Leave No Trace Tips
If you’re dreaming of eloping on the Amalfi Coast, there are a few things Benedetta wants you to keep in mind:
- No Permit Required for Symbolic Beach Ceremonies – If you’re planning a simple ceremony on the beach, you won’t need a permit. However, most venues and historic gardens do require a reservation and a fee, so plan accordingly.
- Book Your Location in Advance – Shai and Dillon’s ceremony took place at the Chiostro, a stunning historic site near their hotel. Locations like this require advance booking, so reach out early to secure your spot.
- Avoid Peak Tourist Seasons – The Amalfi Coast is a bucket-list destination, which means it gets crowded fast. Consider eloping in the off-season—April through May or September through early December—for a quieter, more intimate experience (like this couple did).
- Support Local Communities & Leave No Trace – Traveling during the off-season helps support the local economy while minimizing the impact of tourism. Plus, always respect the land by keeping it clean and leaving no trace.

Memorable Moments from This Elopement
From the photographer:
“Two unforgettable moments truly captured our experience.
The first was as we descended the stairs of Fiordo del Furore. Surrounded by the sound of crashing waves and a refreshing breeze, we found ourselves in complete solitude at one of the Amalfi Coast’s hidden gems. It felt as if we had this breathtaking spot all to ourselves—a treasure that was simply priceless.
The second highlight was undoubtedly the magical sunset we witnessed on Positano Beach. Even now, our hearts skip a beat when we look back at the photos. Those colors provided the perfect conclusion to an already incredible day. And all of this happened on the 29th of November!”
