David is an amazing photographer who truly loves what he does. He had great ideas for our elopement day which all fit perfectly into what we were looking for. I love how he was able to incorporate our fur baby into the day and pictures. He even went out of his way to scout the area days before our big day! He’s friendly, relatable and comfortable to be around. We had never had any professional pictures taken before this, and he made it easy and stress free. We laughed and cried and felt all the emotions, and David captured it all so beautifully. I’m so happy we decided to go with David for our big day! I’m so grateful for how it all turned out, from the pictures, to the scenery, to the way we felt, it was all perfect.

Oh man, where can i start. Everything from the quick response to my web inquiry, to the thorough elopement guide and schedule he sent, to watching David hike with a full kit while holding our random bags - I honestly will never top our elopement experience and we owe that to David's professionalism, and lovely personality. 15/10, exceeded expectations. David is truly passionate about his craft and is a joy to watch in motion.

My now husband and I used Silk & Thorn for our ‘fairy tale’ Elopement on the Oregon Coast / Redwood forest and I could not have imagined a more perfect day thanks to David. From our first time messaging David was all ears wanting to hear how he could make my day perfect.. being from South Carolina I had no clue where to start to get married in California. David scouted out all the locations prior and had all of the locations picked within walking distance in my dress. He listened, said yep yep yep and made it happen!! Truly the best to work with!

David was absolutely wonderful! From the initial communication, to chatting with us and then having spot on suggestions about how to arrange our day, to the tiny wedding itself, working with him was seamless and the pictures are gorgeous! I’m not sure how many photographers would play in the rain at the Maroon Bells with us and then hang out by the fire pit at the reception/picnic, but it was perfect. Stop searching and hire him now.

I don’t think there are enough words in the English dictionary to describe how wonderful our experience with Silk & Thorn was! David has an incredible still of being able to capture moments that feel unique, intimate, and timeless. He is extremely knowledgeable of his craft and has an arsenal of creativity that just makes him a joy to be around. We are so excited to have been able to capture high-quality photos of our wedding that we will get to look back on for years to come!
