I’m Jaimie, a documentary-style wedding and elopement photographer based in Joshua Tree, California. I photograph elopements throughout California, the Midwest, and across the United States, with a photojournalistic approach rooted in presence, movement, and the full experience of the day.
The elopements I’m drawn to aren’t about turning the day into a photoshoot or chasing one moment after another. They’re about slowing down, choosing intention over performance, and spending the day in a way that actually feels meaningful. My role is to document that experience as it unfolds — quietly, attentively, and without staging or interruption.
I work in a calm, observant way, paying attention to what’s happening around you rather than directing or shaping moments for the camera. You don’t need to know how to pose or worry about what you’re supposed to be doing. Documentary photography allows you to stay present while the story is photographed naturally.
Your gallery reflects the full arc of the day — not just the ceremony or the scenic moments, but the transitions, pauses, conversations, and in-between experiences that give a wedding day its shape. The result is imagery that feels honest and complete, capturing not just how the day looked, but how it felt to be there.
I regularly photograph weddings and elopements that involve travel, whether within California, the Midwest, or elsewhere in the continental United States. Elopements don’t need to be exotic to be meaningful — what matters most is choosing a place and pace that feel right for you.
If you’re planning an elopement that prioritizes experience, presence, and intention over performance, I’d love to connect and see if we’re a good fit.
