I’m Chris Bennett, a Maine wedding and adventure elopement photographer based near Acadia National Park. I photograph weddings and elopements across Maine, throughout New England, and around the world. My goal is that years from now, even your friends and loved ones who couldn’t attend your wedding will still feel every emotion through the images I create.
About You: You’re not afraid to think outside the box. You feel alive and at home in the outdoors. You want to get married in a place that’s meaningful — maybe it’s a barn in the Maine countryside, a family property that’s been in your family for generations, or somewhere wild and free, like the cliffs of Acadia. You’re drawn to genuine, unscripted moments and raw emotion over stiff poses.
About Me: I’m Chris — an adventurer, traveler, outdoor enthusiast, and full-time wedding photographer. For over 20 years, I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings and elopements from the Faroe Islands to Freeport, Maine. I spend my time capturing intimate elopements in Acadia National Park and along the rugged coast or beautiful mountains of Maine, and beyond. I work with couples who want to embrace adventure — the ones who don’t mind a little wind in their hair or dirt on their dress, who want something real and unforgettable. No trail is too long, no mountain too high, no destination too far.
As a Maine wedding and adventure elopement photographer, I’m all about capturing genuine, unscripted moments — not stiff poses. My focus is on emotion, connection, and storytelling.
I work with couples who aren’t afraid to get their dress a little muddy or feel the wind in their hair — the ones who want to take a risk, embrace adventure, and do something out of the ordinary. Whether it’s an intimate elopement in Acadia National Park, a rustic barn wedding in the Maine countryside, or a destination celebration halfway around the world, I’m there to document it all.
What makes me different: I’m university-trained in photographic imaging arts and sciences from RIT, with a concentration in photojournalism. Before becoming a full-time wedding photographer, I worked on the Appalachian Trail as a backcountry ranger, living in a tent for six months. That experience shaped how I see the world — patient, observant, and deeply connected to nature.
I believe the key to happiness is directly correlated to the number of adventures one has. Over the past 20 years, I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings and elopements across six continents (Antarctica, you’re next!). My work has been featured in publications including Outside Magazine, Backpacker Magazine, National Geographic Adventure, and Down East Magazine.
I’m based in New England and available for weddings and elopements across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and worldwide.
