Hi, I'm Betsy! I am an elopement and intimate wedding photographer based in the San Juan Mountains of Southern Colorado. I began my journey into photography after one of the most difficult times in my life. The mountains became a place of deep quiet and healing. I began to photograph amazing moments of light and exploring remote areas of the San Juan Mountains as places to find solitude. A feeling of reverence for these places began to emerge.
When I started photographing weddings nothing felt right. The sacred moment when you commit your life to another was being overshadowed by pomp and circumstance, by timelines and "have to's." It felt like a performance rather than a significant moment in the bride and groom's life.
I naturally gravitated towards elopements where the quiet, reverence of the mountains seemed to match the significance of the day and the commitment you both will make to one another. This felt like home to me and felt like work I could really connect to.
In my work, I strive to capture not only how your day looked, but how it felt. I’m drawn to the meaning and emotion woven into each moment; the quiet reverence of your vows, and the way the mountains hold both stillness and grandeur around you. I believe the day is made up of small moments within vast landscapes, and I photograph both with equal intention: the beauty of the details, your rings, florals, the lace of the dress, the boutonniere, alongside the scale and drama of the mountains that surround you. So you can remember not only how it looked but how it felt.

I have an 80+ page elopement planning guide full of helpful tips and checklists. I specialize in personalized location research + permit application assistance. I will create an elopement day timeline that leaves you with time to soak in the day without rushing and without pressure. There are no travel fees with any of my packages. Sneak Peeks of your images will be delivered within 24 hour of your elopement. In 4-6 weeks I will deliver an online gallery of your high res, edited images where you can download, share, and print directly from a professional photo lab. And I have so many more tips including vendor referrals, local lodging and restaurants, hair and makeup, florists, bakers, you name it.

Hi I'm Betsy. I am a local photographer based in the San Juan Mountains. I have been exploring these beautiful, rugged mountains for many years and love them with all my heart. I work as both a landscape and an elopement photographer and understand how beautiful light can make such drop dead gorgeous images of your wedding day.
I believe the mountains hold a quiet, reverence. Your vows said here feel so different. There is no pomp and circumstance, no show for all the guests, just true, meaningful words said to one another in a landscape that holds such silence, such reverence that it matches the significance of the commitment you are making to one another. To me they aren't just a backdrop for pretty pictures but a place that holds both grandeur and such stillness so that the moments you spend together bond you and give you memories to last forever.

I have the honor of guiding couples who want to elope into the vastness of the San Juan Mountains, into stunning mountains basins, to azure blue lakes surrounded by rugged peaks, to waterfalls and open meadows dotted with wildflowers and utter peace and quiet.
I provide full planning services including personalized location scouting based on your vision of how you want to spend your day. I have so many incredible places I can’t wait to bring you to!
I help with all the logistics of planning an elopement day. Because you've never planned one before and why do you want to spend all day on Google searching vendors, road conditions, making plan B and plan C in case of weather? I help with all this, I have vendor recommendations, lodging recommendations and know these mountains inside and out, so if there's weather, I've got you.
I also love hopping on Zoom calls with you to really get to know you both, hear your story, and understand what matters most to you. From there, I help shape a day that feels connected to your vision, and true to you, so you can have the day you have dreamt about.

Each package is fully inclusive of my services including location scouting, logistics planning, vendor recommendations, personalized timeline creation and of course the photography in these big beautiful San Juan Mountains. I offer a seamless experience from start to finish, without additional travel costs or hidden fees to consider.
Packages start at $3200 for up to 4 hours of coverage.
I offer a full day elopement package and I also offer a "Sunrise and Sunset" Package designed around the light, allowing for both sunrise and sunset portraits across 3 -4 breathtaking locations, when the landscape is at its most beautiful so that all your photos have that best light.
