A full day elopement experience that combines “just us” adventure, celebration with loved ones, and intentional, quiet moments – all against the backdrop of one of the most unique and beautiful settings in the Pacific Northwest.
You’ll start your day getting ready with each other, just the two of you, at your lodging in Hood River. It’ll be a slow morning, with lots of anticipatory energy, as you help each other get dressed and packed for the first part of this special day. Once you’re ready, you’ll head out for the adventurous part of your day.
The first destination will be a trail along the Columbia River Gorge on the Washington side – Horsethief Butte. This spot is known for its excellent rock climbing and beautiful wildflowers during the spring. At the right time, the hills are covered in brilliant Arrowleaf Balsamroot! It’s the perfect setting for the two of you to explore and share some time in nature together.
After you’ve had your fill of reveling in the wildflowers, climbing around the cliff sides, and enjoying the mountain views, you’ll hop back in your car, ready for the next big event: Your ceremony with family and friends! You’ll meet up with everyone at a beautiful Gorge venue, where you’ll exchange hugs and laughter. Soon, it’ll be time for you to make it official, and a loved one will lead you in a beautiful ceremony.
After your ceremony, and while dinner is being prepped, you’ll take some time for just you and your love to wander the grounds. You’ll have some quiet moments together to absorb the fact that you just got married (!) and admire the gorgeous landscape all around you.
Once dinner is ready, you’ll head back inside to rejoin everyone. Folks will share toasts and stories, laugh and cry, and you’ll get to spend plenty of quality time with all these people you hold so dear. You’ll enjoy sweet treats, and spend the rest of your night reminiscing on all the wonderful memories you made that got you to this day – and all those still to come.
