The Granite Sanctuary–Photo Only, Half-Day Excursion in Yosemite

  • Forest

There is a rhythm to this valley that predates the ticking of clocks, a deep, geologic pulse that you can feel through the soles of your boots the moment we meet in the meadow beneath the grey watch of El Capitan. We begin here, not with the frenetic pace of a traditional wedding, but by slipping into the slow, ancient current of the Merced River. As you walk the river trail for your first look, the water moves beside you—constant, clear, and unhurried—mirroring the quiet certainty of the commitment you are about to make. We guide you toward the thunder of Yosemite Falls, where the air cools and the mist kisses your skin, a wild baptism that we capture not just as an image, but as a feeling you can revisit when the years have moved on.

We navigate the currents of the park to find a stillness amidst the stone, leading you to a secret beach known only to the locals and the deer. Here, with the twin sentinels of Half Dome and Yosemite Falls standing witness, you speak your vows in a cathedral built by glaciers. The afternoon softens into a picnic on the banks of Sentinel Beach, where the solitude allows space for the voices of those you love to enter the circle; as you read their letters and record your messages of gratitude, we ensure that your elopement is not an act of leaving, but a widening of your world. Finally, as the sun begins its golden retreat, we bring you to the edge of the world at Tunnel View. At a perch above the crowds, suspended between the darkening valley floor and the alpenglow on the peaks, you share your first dance. The river of your single lives has ended here, merging into something vast, deep, and beautifully unknown. Come, let us find your place in the flow.

Designed for the couple who values intimate shared experience and a high-end photographic legacy, this experience focuses purely on your intimate ceremony and creating breathtaking photos without the full day commitment. Hiking is optional! Yosemite National Park is full of easy access to epic views, and because we are longtime locals, we know all the secret spots “just around the corner” or “along this climber’s trail” that offers you a bit of privacy for your Yosemite elopement.

About Yosemite National Park, California. This experience is set against one of the world’s most iconic landscapes—a canvas of immense granite cliffs, rushing waterfalls and rivers, and the vast, soul-stirring expanse of Yosemite Valley. The park is expansive, often requiring hours of travel to and from various locations. To reduce travel burn of time on your special day, we can plan your ceremony and portraits at the same or very nearby locations.

For the couple seeking a path less traveled, we embrace your vision. While Glacier Point and Taft Point are famous and stunning choices, our deep local knowledge allows us to guide you to lesser-known, equally breathtaking overlooks. We have our own collection of named and unnamed points that grant you the privacy you wouldn’t expect in Yosemite National Park. Whether it’s your own secret spot or one of our treasured locations, we will find the perfect, intimate stage for your union.

Optional Notes & Customization
  • Photo & Video Team Our packages are high value and high output! Instead of hiring a photographer and a videographer separately, you get both in a life partners team. We work seamlessly together to capture the important moments of your wedding day in both cinematic video and high end editorial portraits worthy of printing in book, print, and fine art mediums. Instead of feeling like a paparazzi experience, we quietly seek out these artful moments while giving you two the space to truly be your full authentic selves. Check out our other packages for photo + video coverage!
  • Rugged ceremonies Kira is ordained and Forrest is your willing witness, so the signatures upon your wedding license are included. We do not preside over or intrude in your ceremony–we encourage you to focus on your vows to each other in your ceremony. If you have a preferred officiant, they are welcome to join us.
  • Multi-Day Expeditions If your Forever Endeavor requires a deeper trek into the backcountry or multiple locations across the High Sierra, we offer 1.5-day and 2-day tiers. These extended experiences allow for a slower pace, additional adventure activities, and the capture of rare natural phenomena like “Blue Hour” star-scapes or remote summit sunrises. You also get many more photos and a longer cinematic film with these longer timelines.
  • Weather Makes It Better We come prepared for rain, snow, and wind if you want to stick with the original date and brave the magical forces of nature – they do make for epic moments, especially at storm break!
