You’ll be waking up before the sun, and it’ll be worth every minute of sleep you don’t get. We’ll meet on the mountaintop of Artist Point to take portraits at my favorite reflection pond, with just you two and the mountains and the golden glow of the sky. From there, we’ll head down into the glacier-carved valley for a private ceremony where you two can exchange your vows with the wildflowers and mountains as witnesses. This spot is private and underrated, and gorgeous in all kinds of weather.
Once we’ve meandered through the valley and had our fill of those views, we’ll start heading down the mountain with a stop at Picture Lake, carving out a few minutes for a first dance on your private boardwalk. Afterwards, we’ll swing by Wake ‘N Bakery for coffee and pastries before you head back to your cabin for a cozy midday nap.Once you’ve woken back up feeling refreshed and ready for part ii, I’ll join you at your cabin for some re-getting ready photos! This is where the two of you can revel in the comfort of your private space and I’ll photograph some details that will round out your final gallery with a sense of place– photos that show your vow books or postcards of Mt. Baker or a map of the area. Then, we’ll head up an adventurous forest road to get to one of my favorite places in the world– the fire lookout I hiked to on my own elopement day! We’ll enjoy a moderate hike up, soaking in the views of the lakes beneath us and the mountains around us along the way. Once we get to the top, we’ll soak in the 360º panoramic views and enjoy taking portraits during golden hour.
We’ll take a little dinner break after sunset, snacking in the fire lookout tower and toasting your summit beers while we sign the logbook and wait for the stars to show. Once the sky is dark, we’ll start making our way back down the mountain by headlamp and take photos with the stars along the way.
