Imagine spending one of the most important days of your life together in a place that’s as grand and sweeping as your love for each other. This all day Washington elopement takes place on the incomparable Orcas Island and features 360 degree views of mountains, the San Juan Archipelago, and – if we’re lucky – an epic sunrise sky.
We’ll start early in the morning, before the sun comes up. I’ll meet you at your cozy lodging somewhere near Moran State Park, and you’ll do your last minute packing for the adventure ahead, while sipping coffee and chatting about the day ahead.
We’ll take a short drive to a trailhead for our hike up to Mount Constitution. Though you’ll start your adventure in the dark, you’ll start to spot little glimpses of light on the horizon as we near the summit. You’ll begin to see that the hard work of hiking our way up will be 1000% worth it, as we near your ceremony spot.
Just before the sun begins to break the horizon, we’ll reach the summit, where you’ll both change into your wedding attire for a “first look”. As the sky begins to glow in shades of pink and gold, you’ll finally see each other all decked out, sharing teary “ooo”s and “ahh”s before beginning an exchange of private vows against an epic mountain and island backdrop.
After your ceremony, you’ll set up a cozy breakfast picnic, complete with hot coffee and tasty baked goods picked up the previous day from the famous Brown Bear Bakery in Eastsound.
From there, we’ll begin the second half of the hike, stopping at Mountain Lake along the way, where you’ll read letters from loved ones and share a first dance. There will be wildlife sightings, viewpoints, and other breaks along the way. By the time we’re back at the trailhead, you’ll have a whole day’s worth of memories, new experiences, and the most incredible start to your marriage you could imagine.
