This isn’t a quick ceremony—it’s a 1.5 day Alaska elopement experience that invites you to slow down, savor this destination you’ve chosen, and truly feel your surroundings.
Your journey begins with arrival at luxury forest glamping at Alpenglow, an intimate 7-tent luxury glamp nestled into the forest on the edge of the Matanuska Glacier, overlooking the glacier and the mountains that guard it.
Here, comfort meets wild beauty: inviting canvas glamping tents with real beds and platform decks for relaxing, welcoming communal spaces, a wood-fired hot tub surrounded by stunning natural views, and a cozy, summer-camp-style create the foundation for your elopement adventure. Getting ready happens onsite, with time to arrive, unpack, and ease into the day as anticipation builds.
In the afternoon, you lift off for a 2-hour, private helicopter adventure that is meaningful and breathtaking. You’ll land on a glacier and mountaintop to exchange vows surrounded by ice, peaks, and Alaska’s wide open sky. And with generous time to explore, wander, and create portraits at an unhurried pace, a light picnic in the adventure keeps the experience relaxed and easy.
Back at camp, the celebration continues. Evening unfolds with a laid-back wedding-night dinner at your styled sweetheart table in the community pavilion overlooking the mountains and forest around the glacier. Followed by a toast of bubbly, a petite wedding cake or celebratory treat, and time to soak in the wood-fired hot tub or gather by the campfire, your day can carry on as long as you like while the midnight sun lingers on the horizon.
Day One of your wedding closes tucked into your private glamping tent—cozy, quiet, and surrounded by forest.
Day Two begins slowly, with freshly prepared hot breakfast and glowing mountain light before heading out for a hike or other exploration suited to your pace and goals. The purpose? See more, celebrate more, connect more fully with no rushing; and if Day One included guests, this Day Two adventure is a perfect time for private vows.
After exploring, with no rigid schedule, the rest of the day is yours, with space for reflection, additional adventure, or simply enjoying the stillness of camp. That evening, you settle in for a second cozy night at Alpenglow, letting the experience fully sink in.
On the final morning, you wake unhurried to another hot, freshly prepared breakfast before checking out and heading onward—well-positioned for more Alaska adventures I’ve helped you plan beyond Matanuska Glacier.
Across both elopement days, your experience is carefully documented by an award-winning luxury elopement photographer who is also your guide, coordinator, and partner in adventure—capturing not just how it looked, but how it felt.
Thinking about an intimate wedding in Alaska? This experience adapts beautifully for small weddings with your treasured few. Alpenglow’s glamping layout naturally supports a summer camp–style destination wedding with ~16 other guests directly onsite, and 20+ using additional accommodations in the area.
The intimate glamping setting brings guests together in updated, cozy lodging where they can share meals and fireside moments, explore at their own pace and in special group experiences, allowing them to feel part of your wedding experience without needing to be scheduled into every moment.
While you venture out for private helicopter exploration post-ceremony, family and friends enjoy camp life—then gather again to celebrate, dine, reconnect, and share stories late into the long Alaska evening, and across your elopement days.
