If the idea of being in front of a camera makes you a little awkward, we’re already off to a great start—because same. My approach to elopements is pretty simple: create a day that actually feels like you, then document it while it unfolds. No stiff posing, no rushing from spot to spot, and definitely no pretending to be someone you’re not. Think of it less like a photoshoot and more like an adventure where I happen to tag along with cameras.
I’ll guide you just enough, so you never feel unsure what to do, but mostly I’m there to keep things relaxed, fun, and natural. Meanwhile, I’m quietly doing the Type-A stuff in the background—tracking the light, watching the weather, timing locations before crowds show up, and making sure snacks exist (because sunrise + ocean air = hungry). You get to be fully in the moment. I’ll handle the rest.
We’ll meet at Wingaersheek Beach for sunrise, when the shoreline is still quiet and the sky is just beginning to soften with morning color. With the tide rolling in and horizon softly glowing, you’ll exchange private vows right there on the sand—just the two of you and the ocean waking up.
Afterward, we’ll wander the beach for portraits while the light is still low and golden. Barefoot in the sand, wind in your hair, laughing a little because it’s early and this is actually happening. Nothing rushed, nothing overly posed—just the two of you taking it in.
From there we’ll head to Bearskin Neck, a narrow little peninsula that feels like stepping straight into a charming New England fishing village. If you’re like me, there’s nothing worse than having strangers gawk at you, so our early arrival is timed perfectly for when it’s still sleepy, which means we get to explore it before the crowds arrive.
We’ll walk down the harbor side of the peninsula for photos with fishing boats drifting nearby and sweeping views across the water toward Motif No. 1, the famous little red fishing shack you’ve probably seen in paintings and postcards. The alleyways between the shops are also a hidden gem—perfect for photos framed by weathered buildings, ropes, and glimpses of the harbor beyond.
To finish the morning, we’ll make our way to Halibut Point State Park. The landscape shifts here from beach and harbor to dramatic granite cliffs and wide ocean views. We’ll wander along the quarry rim and rocky shoreline for a final set of portraits with the Atlantic stretching out in every direction—an epic way to wrap up the morning.
This whole experience is meant to feel less like a photoshoot and more like exploring the coast together while I tag along with cameras.
With a thoughtful timeline, incredible scenery, and plenty of breathing room for the little in-between moments, this experience is designed to feel effortless from start to finish. From sweeping overlooks to quiet tucked-away spots, everything flows at an easy pace, so you’re never rushed or watching the clock. And if you’re worried about feeling awkward in photos—good news. I’m awkward too. That’s why I keep things relaxed, conversational, and easy, guiding you just enough so you never feel unsure while the real moments unfold naturally.
If you’re not ready for the day to end, we take it to the water—either immediately after the ceremony or later on for sunset. A harbor cruise through Gloucester Harbor, drinks in hand, wind in your hair, golden light everywhere. It’s equal parts celebration and exhale, and easily one of the best ways to wrap up the day.
If this sounds like your kind of morning—sunrise vows, salty air, and a little coastal wandering—I’d love to bring it to life with you!
