Your day begins in a cozy cabin tucked into the Alaska woods, taking your time getting ready with nowhere to rush off to. Soft morning light filters through the windows. Coffee brews on the stove. Outside, fresh snow blankets the trees, and the only sounds are the quiet of winter and the excitement of the dogs waiting for the day to begin.
When you’re ready, you’ll bundle up and meet your dog sled team. As soon as the sled begins to glide across the snow, the world grows remarkably quiet. You’ll travel through snow-covered forests, across frozen lakes, and into Alaska’s winter wilderness, following trails that few people ever experience. Along the way, your musher will help us find the perfect place to stop, where you’ll exchange your vows surrounded by nothing but snow, spruce trees, and the stillness of winter.
After your ceremony, we’ll spend time exploring the landscape together, creating photographs that capture both the adventure and the quieter moments before making our way back to the warmth of the cabin.
The rest of the day unfolds at its own pace. Peel off your winter layers, warm your hands by the fire, enjoy something hot to drink, and settle into the feeling of being married with nowhere else you need to be. It’s a chance to slow down, laugh together, and enjoy the simple moments that often become the ones you remember most.
If the sky is clear and conditions are right, the day may not be over just yet. After dark, you can step back outside and look toward the northern sky. Sometimes the aurora appears as a soft glow along the horizon. Other nights, ribbons of green and purple dance overhead. There’s never a guarantee, and that’s part of what makes seeing them so unforgettable. Whether they make an appearance or not, standing together beneath Alaska’s winter sky is a moment you’ll never forget.
One of the things we love most about winter in Alaska is how it changes the pace of the day. The snow softens every sound, the forests feel still, and there are no crowds pulling you from one place to the next. It’s just the two of you, an incredible team of dogs, and one of the most beautiful winter landscapes on Earth. If you’re dreaming of an elopement that’s equal parts adventure and quiet connection, this is an experience unlike any other.
