Sariah and Parker were the models during this inspiration session, but they took the opportunity to renew their vow together. We love how emotional their vow exchange was with the gorgeous mountain peaks as their backdrop.

“They got ready and wrote their vows in Flathead National Forest, Sariah near their awesome yellow van, and Parker in the woods nearby. Before we headed to Polebridge, the two of them had their first look, and it was such a beautiful moment to witness. Prior to exchanging vows in Polebridge, the two of them worshipped together and it was so real and raw. After they exchanged vows, we grabbed a pizza from the Merchantile, and then they snuggled up to watch a movie under the stars.” [Jessica, the photographer]

Whenever you see a wedding day or a vow renewal that you feel especially drawn to, take notes on why you love the images and styling. You’ll start to notice common themes like attire and styles you’re drawn to, colors you absolutely love, landscapes you keep coming back to, and activities that are especially making your heart sing. From this, you’ll also gain a better understanding of what isn’t as important to you, and how to make adjustments based on who you are as a couple! If you see a styled shoot or wedding that has a champagne pop and charcuterie board but you’re way more of a beer and pizza kinda couple – go for it!” [Jessica, the photographer]

Flathead National Forest is a part of Gorgeous Glacier National Park in Montana. We love this area for couples looking to plan an intimate vow renewal or elopement ceremony because of how picturesque and big it is.

One thing to note, however, is this location does get crowded, especially during the weekends. Jessica recommends weekdays, sunrise, or sunset to give you more privacy during your session together.

I’m used to planning elopement days around changing weather conditions and unexpected things – but never in a million years did I think a pandemic would be one of them! It just reminded me of the importance of guiding my couples through the process with my expertise and positivity, so they’re able to embrace the adventure and welcome Plan B, C, D, or E with open arms, ready to say, ‘I do’” [Jessica, the photographer]
