About This Boho Vow Renewal
Sariah and Parker were the models during this inspiration session, but they took the opportunity to renew their vow together. We love how emotional their vow exchange was with the gorgeous mountain peaks as their backdrop.
“They got ready and wrote their vows in Flathead National Forest, Sariah near their awesome yellow van, and Parker in the woods nearby. Before we headed to Polebridge, the two of them had their first look, and it was such a beautiful moment to witness. Prior to exchanging vows in Polebridge, the two of them worshipped together and it was so real and raw. After they exchanged vows, we grabbed a pizza from the Merchantile, and then they snuggled up to watch a movie under the stars.” [Jessica Billings Photography]
Jessica tells us how she focused on capturing the couple’s natural connection while displaying the natural beauty of their environment and boho vibes.
How to Decide What Style You Love For Your Special Day
Whether you’re planning an elopement, vow renewal, or engagement session, it’s important to know what style you both are loving. Knowing your style is also important when thinking about decor, photography style, and even attire.
Jessica recommends using resources to start understanding what your “elopement style” is. Once you have an idea of what you like, then it’s easy to personalize the details.
“Websites like Wandering Weddings and Pinterest are great places to start the planning process! Whenever you see a wedding day or a vow renewal that you feel especially drawn to, take notes on why you love the images and styling. You’ll start to notice common themes like attire and styles you’re drawn to, colors you absolutely love, landscapes you keep coming back to, and activities that are especially making your heart sing. From this, you’ll also gain a better understanding of what isn’t as important to you, and how to make adjustments based on who you are as a couple! If you see a styled shoot or wedding that has a champagne pop and charcuterie board but you’re way more of a beer and pizza kinda couple – go for it!” [Jessica Billings Photography]
This boho vow renewal is the perfect inspiration for couples who are looking for a whimsical and casual elopement experience. This is also perfect for couples who want to keep their day simple, without extravagant florals or decor. Sariah wore a flowy boho vow renewal dress, and Parker wore a neutral suit with a bolo tie.
Jessica also encourages couples to think about what they would like to do together. Do you want to hike to a secluded mountain peak, or do you want to snuggle together in a forest by a camper van?

Tips For Your Couple Sessions at Flathead National Forest
Flathead National Forest is a part of Gorgeous Glacier National Park in Montana. We love this area for couples looking to plan an intimate vow renewal or elopement ceremony because of how picturesque and big it is.
One thing to note, however, is this location does get crowded, especially during the weekends. Jessica recommends weekdays, sunrise, or sunset to give you more privacy during your session together.
“Lean on your photographer for guidance! They know the area and permitting process like the back of their hand and there’s nothing we love more than helping couples plan their best day ever in Montana. They can also be a great resource for the best places to stay based on what activities in the park you’re most looking forward to.” [Jessica Billings Photography]

Unique Aspects Couples Can Incorporate During Their Montana Vow Renewal
We love elopements and post-elopement adventures because couples have the freedom to personalize every aspect of their adventure together. No two adventures are ever the same!
You can stay up till midnight and watch the Northern Lights glimmer against Lake McDonald, or you can write your vows in separate areas in the forest together. You can even plan a romantic picnic after your micro wedding with charcuterie boxes for your guests.
Whatever you decide to do during your special day together, Jessica’s advice is to embrace the adventure.
“Adventures oftentimes don’t go completely as planned and the same can be said about elopement days! I’m used to planning elopement days around changing weather conditions and unexpected things – but never in a million years did I think a pandemic would be one of them! It just reminded me of the importance of guiding my couples through the process with my expertise and positivity, so they’re able to embrace the adventure and welcome Plan B, C, D, or E with open arms, ready to say, ‘I do’” [Jessica Billings Photography]
