Danielle + Brodie met me for an evening engagement session at Crescent Falls in Alberta, Canada. They brought along their pup Flash (who is the sweetest pup ever!) I had never been to Crescent Falls before, but looking at pictures online, I knew that this was a place that I needed to shoot. With many forest fires in the area, I was beginning to get worried that the session may need to be closed. Many trails in the area of the falls were closed and our government websites didn’t have much information. We decided to go for it and in the end I am so happy that we did!
Ashleigh (Ashleigh Artistry) drove up with me as we planned to do Danielle’s makeup out of the back of my SUV. During the drive, we drove through rain, smoke from the fires and finally the weather cleared up for a gorgeous evening. At 5:00 PM Danielle and Brodie arrived and we began the makeup process with the end result suiting Danielle perfectly!
Getting down to the falls wasn’t an easy task. We were faced with a steep incline and a rope tied to a tree to lower yourself down. Perseverance paid off and we were all in awe with the stunning beauty of the canyon and the falls. We photographed close to the falls for the first half of the session with the second half of the session in the river leading to the falls. Danielle and Brodie are very clearly a couple that is so in love with one another and it was easy to capture emotional and beautiful photographs of them interacting. Flash brought a very fun vibe to the session with his bright orange ball, excitement to go swimming and of course adorable bow tie.
Danielle and Brodie are two fantastic and fun people to photograph and I can not wait for their 2018 wedding!
