Do you follow all things boho and rustic when it comes to wedding inspiration? Do you get excited over lace, wood, Persian rugs, and amazing views? Maybe this photographer’s shoot will inspire you to start planning your elopement!
Photographer: Jacie Van Blaricom
Session: Styled Elopement
Location: Schmidt Cattle Co, Mead, WA
Jacie Van Blaricom wanted to create a rustic elopement at Schmidt Cattle Co. in Mead, WA that would not only inspire others but live up to her vision.
Behind the Creative Process at Schmidt Cattle Co.
“Schmidt Cattle Co. had amazing views of the Mead Valley, as well as a large wooden arbor that completed the vision I was imagining.” [Jacie Van Blaricom, Photographer]
A vision of antlers, pacific northwest greens, Persian rugs, wood, and macramé. Besides the beautiful couple, Jacie had a whole team behind her that helped transform her vision into reality.
Tell us more about the couple:
Jacie tells us that this styled shoot was her favorite thus far. Besides having an amazing team of creatives involved, she photographed a couple who naturally complimented her vision.
“Courtney is smitten by Jeff, which made photographing them so effortlessly. They were more than happy to run with any idea I presented.” [Jacie Van Blaricom]
As a bonus, Courtney and Jeff were able to treasure these photos as their wedding photos!
According to Jacie, Courtney didn’t wear a dress she wanted for her wedding, and she also didn’t get photos she could cherish. “She was ecstatic to be able to try on wedding gowns, have her hair and makeup done, and have a new bride experience.” Courtney ended up picking a gorgeous boho-inspired dress from Honest in Ivory which matched perfectly with the handcrafted pieces from Coy Jewelry.
Tell us about the Shoot:
The best moments a photographer experiences are usually when it’s an intimate shoot like this one. Photographers like Jacie can appreciate the little moments between the individuals he or she is photographing instead of worrying about other people in the background.
While arriving, Jacie tells us how they were greeted by a pasture of cows, fowls, and the Schmidt family. “They made homemade sweet tea and gave us such a warm welcome!”
Besides such a friendly greeting, she recalls how much fun they all had during this shoot.
“The other highlight was figuring out how to lay on the ground and make it look good. We were laughing at where hands should be placed if they should be smiling or not, how their legs were arranged.” [Jacie Van Blaricom]
Intimate moments like these should be far from serious, do you agree?
Jacie loves the intimacy and relaxing nature of elopements. She’s incredibly satisfied with her rustic-inspired elopement at Schmidt Cattle Co. because it came out exactly how she imagined: simple, bold, and romantic.
