Session: Elopement

Location: Kenne Valley, Adironack Mountains, New York

From the Photographer:
“I don’t really know how to fully put this elopement I shot into words, but here goes my attempt. Emily + James reached out to me about shooting their elopement in Keene Valley. We chatted back and forth about details, and then one morning I got a text from Emily asking if [my husband] Dan was by any chance ordained to marry them. I was freaking blown away because literally an hour before she texted, Dan had become officially ordained for the purpose of officiating adventurous elopements that I shoot in the future. We were both shocked to say the least. Everything for this elopement just fell into place perfectly. Even when our car broke down 30 minutes before we were supposed to meet up with them, we were able to get it towed and get an Uber to their hotel. I shot some pictures of them in Lake Placid, and then we all drove together in their car (with a trunk full of decorations that I brought) to Keene. Dan married them, + I got to be their photographer and witness on their marriage license. Their ceremony was so sweet and intimate. They both wrote out their vows to each other + they both cried together (and I might have teared up, too). It also didn’t hurt that they brought a bottle of 1993 Château Faugères for us to toast with. As I always say, elopements will always be a favorite to shoot, but this one was overly sweet + special to be a part of. Congrats Emily + James! May your marriage be as sweet as your elopement.”
