I cannot put into words the way that I feel about this session. Every photo is overflowing with love, and passion and joy and makes my heart just really freakin’ happy. Earlier this month I wanted to head up north to get out of the heat, so Brooklyn, her husband Benson, their dog Oso, my boyfriend and I all drove almost 4 hours to head up north to find a place to shoot (with no actual destination planned out).
We had planned to meet at somewhere up north 4:30, but I hardly had any service and we were running out of time trying to scout for the perfect location. We were quickly driving around with the clock ticking away, trying to find a location that really stood out to me. I was about to give up and just said “Whatever, we’ll just shoot here in the woods”. We pulled off the road down a little dirt path and sent our exact location to the couple to meet us there. They showed up five minutes later.
We made our way through the deep woods, taking some photos while the sun poured in through the tall pines. The way the light leeks through the trees is so beautiful, I just couldn’t put my camera down! I had the couple stand on a fallen tree that had split in half, and we kept walking a little deeper into the woods. That was when I saw the flower field. My jaw DROPPED. It was without a doubt the most breathtaking place I have ever seen in my entire life. There were literally TEARS brought to my eyes because I could envision exactly how the images were going to look. We ran over to the field, and the couple played around and I shot for almost two hours. I got home later that night and immediately downloaded all of the images to begin editing them. I created my own presets to create this look from a summer-to-fall transition which worked perfectly for this shoot to give that way, hazy, cozy look. This is now and will forever be my favorite shoot I’ve ever done.
“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall”.
