Do you think your work/photos would be a good fit for our blog? Wandering photographers from around the world can now submit their intimate weddings and elopements for consideration to be featured on our blog! We aim to keep our style adventurous at heart.
Submit Your Elopement
Wandering Weddings is honored to feature real elopements and real micro weddings from the photographers in our community. Our goal is to highlight meaningful stories, responsible adventure, and inspiring experiences for couples planning their own celebration.
To keep the process smooth for everyone, please review the guidelines below before submitting.
What We Feature
We consider submissions that include:
- Real elopements, micro weddings, or intimate weddings
- A gallery that reflects the full story of the day – beginning, middle and end
- A real couple with authentic moments and meaningful storytelling
- Clear, helpful details that will allow us to create an accurate and compelling feature
We do not accept styled shoots, engagements, vow renewals, or anniversary sessions for the blog.
Eligible for social media only
In some cases, the imagery is beautiful but the story is too light for a full feature. When this happens, we may offer a social media feature instead of a blog post.
How the Submission Process Works
Once you submit to us, you will receive an email within 7 business days if your submission is accepted or denied, and we will be in touch with you for more information once we are actively working on publishing your submission.
Step One: Photographer Submits
All submissions must come from a current Wandering Weddings member. We review every gallery and story to determine if it meets our guidelines.
Step Two: Notifying Your Couple
To ensure a smooth and respectful experience for everyone, photographers must let their couple know that they have submitted the elopement for consideration and that Wandering Weddings will reach out if the feature is approved. This helps avoid any surprises and ensures the couple is prepared to receive our questionnaire. A quick heads up creates a smoother process for all involved.
Step Three: Approval or Denial
If approved, we send a questionnaire to the photographer as well as a separate questionnaire to the couple. Both sets of details help us create the deepest, most accurate story possible. Once your submission is accepted, it will be added to our publishing queue. The time from acceptance to publication may vary depending on volume, as accepted sessions are published in order of the queue.
If denied, you will be notified with a short explanation.
Image Requirements
To keep the process efficient, we ask photographers to submit:
- A curated selection of up to 100 images
- A variety of moments that reflect the full narrative of the day
- Include a variety of horizontal and vertical images.
- Resize your images to 2800px (long side), and save images as JPEG files (need help resizing your photos?)
- Rename images to include your business name
- Remove all watermarks
If a full gallery (beyond the 100 images) is submitted, we will request a revised selection before moving forward.
Leave No Trace
We care deeply about responsible storytelling and the impact photography can have on public lands. Submissions may be declined if they show or appear to show activities that conflict with Leave No Trace principles. We understand that skilled photographers can create certain visual effects, but the public cannot always distinguish these nuances, so we reserve the right to exclude any images that may be misinterpreted.
Questionnaire Requirements
We gather information from both the photographer and the couple so we can tell the story fully and accurately.
Photographer Questionnaire
This is required. Please provide as much detail as possible so we can write a meaningful feature. If the questionnaire is too minimal, we may ask for additional information.
Couple Questionnaire
This is also required for a complete feature. However, if the couple does not respond after multiple attempts, we may move forward with the photographer’s questionnaire alone as long as we have enough detail to create a full story.
Communication Timeline and Follow Up
To keep our queue moving smoothly, we follow a simple reminder schedule:
- We send weekly reminders for three weeks to both the photographer and the couple
- If we still do not receive the required questionnaires after the third reminder, we keep the submission open for one additional week
If nothing is received after that final week, the submission will be removed from our system. You are more than welcome to re-submit if you would like to move forward at a later time.
This helps us keep our workflow organized and prevents any unnecessary backlog or delays for other photographers who are actively participating.
If Your Submission Is Not a Fit
A submission may be declined if:
- It does not meet our eligibility guidelines
- It conflicts with Leave No Trace principles
- There is not enough story or detail to create a full feature
- The overall style does not align with our editorial direction
This is never a reflection of your talent. It simply means the submission is not the right fit for our blog. In some cases, we may still offer a social media feature if the imagery is a strong match.
What Happens After Approval
Once we receive the information we need, our team creates your feature, selects the most impactful images, and builds the post on our website. When your story goes live, you will receive:
- A direct link to your feature
- Your official Wandering Weddings Featured Badge
- A simple SEO tip to help you promote your feature
- Optional share wording you can use if you choose
We are grateful to share these stories and appreciate your care, your storytelling, and your commitment to responsible adventure elopements!

Commitment to Equality
We All Wander Together!
At Wandering Weddings, we’re not all the same. We feature couples from all over the world who all tell a different love story. We also encourage you to share LGBTQIA+ couples as we welcome everyone on our platform. We love highlighting the differences in who we are, what we believe in, what we’ve experienced, and where we come from because we believe in including everyone. Everyone wanders, everyone loves, so we strive to continue wandering together as we grow.
