About This Upstate New York Elopement Near Lake George
“After a short hike, they got ready together at our first location with a perfect view of Lake George. Our next location was a waterfall for them to take some quite moments together. This was also a perfect spot for a champagne pop and portraits! Our last location was one of Amanda’s favorite hikes in the Adirondacks. With 360-degree mountain views. They selected this spot to say their vows right before sunset. Bringing their favorite local craft beer and a charcuterie board to share, they spent some time taking in the lush fall views before making their marriage official with a private ceremony with just the two of them.” [Nicole, the photographer]
Planning Your Elopement in the Adirondacks
“There was no permit needed to shoot at any of these locations. All locations are carry in, carry out. There are no trash cans on site and all locations are kept clean by abiding by these principles. The trails are clearly marked with little scrambling but may be a little harder if it’s your first time hiking. Durable and waterproof hiking shoes are a must!
A lot of these trails are pretty remote and it’s at least 30 minutes to get to any store or restaurant. There are portapotties at these locations which is really nice and they are normally maintained well. Bring plenty of extra water, enough food and hiking snacks, and a change of clothes and rain gear as the mountains always come with unpredictable weather. You’ll also want sunscreen and lots of bug spray!” [Nicole, the photographer]
About the Couple
“As an outdoorsy couple, Amanda and Nick envisioned an intimate celebration for their wedding day. We ended their elopement with Amanda’s favorite hike in the Adirondacks, which gave us an epic view of mountains for miles while they said their vows, enjoyed a charcuterie board, and shared a beer from one of their favorite breweries. Amanda and Nick wanted an adventurous and stress-free elopement with views of the Upstate New York mountain ranges as they celebrated the first day of their marriage.” [Nicole, the photographer]
Memorable Moments From This Elopement
From The Photographer:
“One of my favorite moments from Nick and Amanda’s elopement was watching their face as we reached the summit and the scenery came into view. It was right before their ceremony and you could see their shoulders relax and the excitement build as we prepared for their intimate ceremony with miles of fall foliage in the background. On this day there was no one else on the mountain so they had total privacy while they each read their vows.”
Final Words of Advice From the Photographer
“When planning your elopement, it’s important to add additional time throughout the day. It may seem like a lot of time at first but if you end up at a location and want to stay longer than your timeline allows, you’ll have the flexibility to do so without feeling rushed. Elopements should be laid back and fun rather than a stressful day so adding in some buffer time is a really good idea!” [Nicole, the photographer]
