Top Tips For Eloping in the Area

“Plan to stay in the area for more than just a few nights because there is so much. You are only 20 min from Asheville where there is a ton of hiking, restaurants and things to do. It would be the perfect way to celebrate your wedding day for more than just 1 day. Also, give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the day without feeling rushed, I think a lot of people assume that you don’t need that much time for something like this but you don’t want to try and cram this whole experience into just a few hours because I promise, it will feel rushed.

There are no permits required at the rental property. However, if you do plan to venture to the Blue Ridge Parkway that is close by then you WILL need a permit for that. As far as LNT, always stay on trails and plan ahead.” [Tessa, the photographer]

“My biggest advice for couples planning an elopement at a rental property is to be in really good communication with the hosts or owners because everyone has different rules on what they will allow. For example, a lot of Airbnb hosts will not allow guests because those additional people are not actually staying at the rental and therefore are not covered if something were to happen. Reach out to the hosts of the property before you book to verify what their rules are and if your elopement would be allowed.” [Tessa, the photographer]
